Processing of Materials Applications

The Materials Science and Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University seeks to hire a faculty member in the area of processing of materials. In particular, the area may include extractive metallurgy, liquid metal processing and solidification of ferrous and or non-ferrous materials. The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in related fields and ideally R&D experience. Candidates at all levels will be considered. Candidates must possess a distinguished record of accomplishments and publications in these areas and develop a significantly funded research activity. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to direct graduate students and teach effectively. The appointee is expected to interact strongly with others within the College of Engineering.
