Graduate Student:
K. Abhisek Singh

My name is Kumar Abhishek Singh. I received a B.Tech. degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in the year 2005. Thereafter I joined Carnegie Mellon in the direct PhD program in August 2005. Being in the first year of graduate school, I indulged a lot in “thought experiments” rather than actual experiments which of course is going to reverse pretty soon. My research work includes investigation of interfaces between metal contacts and semiconducting, regioregular polythiophene for organic photovoltaics (OPVs). My approach emphasizes a consideration of the chemistry, the nano-morphology of the materials, and the energy level alignment at the contact-organic interfaces to improve the ohmic contacts.
